A programme about history unfolding before our eyes. In 60 episodes, researchers from various disciplines — historians, political scientists, cultural studies scholars — comment on current events and reveal their historical roots. For every episode we have prepared a ready-made lesson plan.

For teachers and lecturers

A ready-made lesson plan for every episode

The materials are designed for secondary schools, university classes and civic education. Each episode lasts about 40 minutes and is divided into three parts, so it is easy to fit into a single lesson.


  1. Choose a topic

    Filter episodes by topic — from the January Uprising to artificial intelligence.


  2. Watch an episode

    The whole episode or one of its three parts on YouTube. Each part is a separate thread for discussion.


  3. Download the lesson plan

    Discussion questions, group tasks, a glossary of terms and references to the core curriculum.

About the project

The aim of the project was to create a modern educational tool: an online TV programme of historical commentary featuring researchers from various disciplines — history, political science, sociology, cultural studies, religious studies, literary studies and security studies.

Each of the 60 episodes discusses a significant contemporary phenomenon, current event or important anniversary, showing its historical analogies, origins and solutions applied in other times and places. The programme is freely available on social media and can be used in lectures and in history and civic education lessons.

Teaching pack

Each episode comes with a lesson plan: suggestions for use, sample discussion questions, a list of terms, people and events, and references to learning outcomes at each stage of education.
