A small percentage — a big change

Your 1.5% of tax or your donation gives children, young people and students the chance to carry out social, cultural, academic, educational and sports projects.

How do I donate 1.5% of my tax to Fundacja Ignatianum?

In your Polish PIT tax return, in the section requesting the transfer of 1.5% of tax to a public benefit organisation, enter our KRS number 0000236286. In the Twój e-PIT service, simply search for the foundation by its KRS number and confirm your choice. The return must be filed by 30 April.

Does donating 1.5% cost me anything?

No. It is part of the tax you pay anyway. Instead of all of it going to the state budget, the tax office transfers 1.5% to the foundation. You pay nothing extra and your tax refund stays the same.

What is the specific purpose (cel szczegółowy) for?

In the “Cel szczegółowy” field you can indicate whom you want to support, e.g. a particular school, hall of residence or the Kredkobranie campaign. The full list of purposes and their exact wording is in the “Who do you want to help?” table above. If you leave the field empty, the funds go to the foundation’s statutory goals, above all supporting students.

Will the foundation know who donated 1.5%?

Only if you agree. In your PIT return you can consent to your name, address and the amount being passed on to the foundation. Without this consent we receive the money without any details of the donor.

Can a donation to the foundation be deducted from tax?

Yes, under Polish tax law. Fundacja Ignatianum is a public benefit organisation, so a donation to its statutory goals can be deducted in the annual return: up to 6% of income for individuals (PIT) and up to 10% of income for companies (CIT). You need proof of payment to the foundation’s bank account, e.g. a transfer confirmation.

What should I write as the transfer title?

“Darowizna na cele statutowe” (donation for statutory goals) is enough. If you want to support a particular institution or campaign, add its name, e.g. “Darowizna na cele statutowe – Kredkobranie”. You will find the account number in the “Bank transfer” section.
