Fundacja Ignatianum is carrying out the project “Historia dzieje się” (History in the Making), funded by the Ministry of Education and Science under the Science for Society programme. The project runs from 2022 to 2024. Its essence is to create a modern tool: an online TV programme of historical commentary featuring researchers from various disciplines (history, political science, sociology, cultural and religious studies, literary studies and security studies), intended for broadcast on social media and for free use as a lecture component and in history and civic education lessons in schools. The project will produce 60 episodes of about 30 minutes each. Each episode discusses a significant contemporary phenomenon, current events that attract public attention, or a relevant anniversary, showing historical analogies, their origins, or solutions applied at different times and in different places. An important component of the project, strengthening its educational value, is a teaching pack that makes it easier to use the programme in secondary schools and in university teaching. It includes suggestions for use, sample discussion questions, a list of terms, people and events covered in the programme, and references to the learning outcomes for each stage of education.
